Gavin Dietz (Costumer Builder) - is a costumer who’s been with Meyer2Meyer Entertainment for four years, building and bringing to life Tanya Cyr’s amazing designs for their Haunted Soirée shows, Nocturne musicals, and more. Before moving to Los Angeles, Gavin was with an opera costume company based in Pensacola, Florida where he made opera and musical theatre costumes that shipped across the US. When not making costumes, you might run into him at a kpop concert, a used book store, or outside a Handel’s ice cream shop.

Seth Logan (Scenic Designer/Builder) - â€‹â€‹joined the Nocturne family in 2023 and is thrilled to return this time not only as Scenic Builder and Carpenter, but as the SET DESIGNER! Seth’s previous Meyer2Meyer credits include Into the Woods, Jekyll and Hyde, Beauty and the Beast, and The Hunchback of Notre Dame and Madam Scrooge. When he’s not throwing paint on things you can find him working on photography projects or cruising the country in his camper van. Seth would like to thank those who have loved him into being: his family, his friends and his teachers.

David French (Scenic Builder) Originally an actor, David quickly found a greater appreciation for the stage in the world’s created. Over the past decade, he’s had the privilege to contribute to over 30 MainStage productions. From Hairspray, (The Dixie PAC, TN) to Beauty and the Beast, (Champaign Urbana Theater Company, IL)  and most recently, West Side Story and Shrek The Musical at The Nocturne Theatre. He is humbled to be able to use his talents for Meyer2Meyer and the Nocturne Theater.

Sydni Sawyer (Special FX Make-Up/Scenic Painter) is delighted to be making her debut as Scenic Painter/Prosthetic Makeup Artist for Shrek the musical at The Nocturne Theatre. She has previously assisted with the set and props for The Nocturne as well as other theatres. Sydni was trained as a Special Effects Makeup artist and has branched out to many other disciplines over the years. She recently worked as a scenic artist for The Companies of Nassal, creating scenic pieces for Universal Studios' newest park, Epic Universe. Previously, Sydni has worked in prop shops such as Tom Spina Designs creating Star Wars collectables and restoring/preserving film used props. She is excited to continue to work with The Nocturne to bring fantastical themes to the public through the art of theatre.

Matt Merline (Sound Designer) is the resident sound guy for the Nocturne Theater. He runs the ship for any and all sound-related needs. For Hunchback, he recorded and mixed the backup choir.  You can find him crawling around the theater floor plugging things into the wall or buried in a pile of wires. His spare time is spent at the library, playing music, writing and long hikes.

Micah Delhauer (Assistant Lighting Designer/Stage Manager) is both the bee's knees AND the cat's meow. He has been involved with Meyer2Meyer Entertainment since its inception, doing everything from directing to dressing up like giant ice cream cones, and is proud to be assisting with their latest enterprise, the Nocturne Theatre. When not acting as inspiration and mentor to the Meyers, he is also a creator of motion pictures, having just finished his feature debut, Blood Magick. Check out his bad self at:

After attending the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising fashion and costume design programs, she has worked professionally in clothing and costume design for ten years, with experience in film and fashion design in addition to theater. When not working she enjoys visiting museums and playing video games with her partner and cat.

Stuart Brawley (Audio Technician) is a JUNO-nominated producer, songwriter, and musician whose work spans genres and generations. With credits including Michael Jackson, Celine Dion, Brandy, Don Henley, NSYNC, and countless others, Stuart brings a signature blend of musicality and emotional depth to every project. Whether he’s rocking The Nocturne Theatre with his 90s band Foo Flannels or haunting the upstairs cabaret at the piano in the annual Haunted Soirée, he delivers a unique style and passion that resonate deeply and leave a lasting impression.

Director's Note

I had the great pleasure of seeing the ORIGINAL performance of Dracula The Musical back in the early 2000's on Broadway, starring the great Tom Hewitt as Dracula.  Never did I think I would have the opportunity to one day bring the role to undead-life myself--let alone direct the show as well!

We all grew up with this timeless vampiric romance, so it's no surprise that there were many MANY inspirations that led to our interpretation of Dracula The Musical.  With nods to so many films including Coppola's Bram Stoker's Dracula, the Nosferatu films and even nods to the imaginative Dracula inspired 80's film Fright Night, we had so much fun blending classic gothic horror elements, with the pop-art, neon rock edge of the 1980's.

I didn't want this show to feel like a musical theatre show.  I didn't want it to feel weighed down by the cliches and melodrama seen in many other versions of Dracula.  Instead, I wanted this show to feel fast-paced, like a fever dream of sights, sounds and blood.  We have given it a Cirque-like quality, mixed with a rock concert edge, and the grand scale of a mini-opera.

The musical genius Chris Wade has provided an 80's rock-arrangement of Wildhorn's incredible score, and has elevated the show experience to full-moon fever pitch.  He conducts the live band with the ferocity the show deserves!

I was dreaming really big on this show and wanted the Vampiress' to fly...but without a fly rig, I wasn't sure how we would achieve this--that is, until I spoke with the profoundly talented Lisa-Marie Burnside, who inspired me with her aerial choreography in so many of our other shows.  I knew right away that she would dedicate herself to this project and it shows--her aerial performances and choreography are full of love, thought and nuance--seamlessly blending the art form with a less-than traditional rock-opera theatre space.

Tanya Cyr outdoes herself with the costumes and creature designs on this show--giving in to her full grotesque fantasies, and giving us a feast of looks straight out of a Nightmare Met Gala.  Gavin Dietz and his amazing costume build team, including Nocturne favorite Koalani Walkoe, miraculously bring Tanya's visions to haunting, beautiful reality.

Seth Logan leads the scenic design and build team, and with the help of David French, they have created the largest and possibly one of the most ornate of Nocturne's sets.  Sydni Sawyer's anatomical heart sets the perfect metaphorical tone for the show.

Big thank you shout outs to Micah Delhauer on his help with the lighting and stage management of the show, and to Matt Merline, Stuart Brawley and Kelby Thwaits who helped to set up the live-band sound experience for this show, and proving to us that more rock-concert styled shows should be in the Nocturne's near future.

As always, thank you to my wife and Nocturne Co-Owner Melissa Meyer, who took on the mantle of Assistant Director when I had to finally step away and become the actor! Her finishing touches on the direction of the show have made helped polish the show in blood.

Finally, to my fellow actors and amazing CAST of Dracula The Musical--thank you.  Thank you for your patience, your talents and for your belief in my wild and weird ideas.  Your voices and your acting elevate the show to Broadway caliber; and your willingness to get bizarre and bloody have made this show one of my favorite experiences to direct.

Now sit back, relax and let it happen! Drink Deep and Live Forever!
