Together, they have had the privilege of working on immersive projects for big names such as Fortnite, Amazon, Netflix, Warner Brothers, and their own shows House of Spirits, Kaleidoscope Experience, and the Bite LA. Before her current role, Melissa was a professional dancer and performed for various regional theatres and cruise ships.

Ernest Peiffer (Choreogrpaher) spent 15 years as a dancer and project supervisor for Princess Cruises. It was there that he met an array of international entertainers. Among them were the owners of the Nocturne Theater, Justin and Melissa Meyer. He has provided choreography for their presentations of Beauty and the Beast, Cabaret, and Hunchback of Notre Dame. Before this, he has choreographed shows in Branson, MO and several private event functions. He is excited to come back and lend his support to this production of Little Shop of Horrors.

Tanya Cyr (Costume/Creature Designer) studied under various designers before landing at Meyer2Meyer Entertainment, at the company's inception. She works year round on all their shows, designing everything from Creature Suits to Costumes. She is originally from Santa Barbara and wishes to thank her family, especially her father, mother, her brothers and her newly extending family, for their constant support of her artistic adventures!

Greg Feiler (Creature Builder) I have been into special FX art for most of my life ever since '77 when I first saw Star Wars. Who would have thought, huh? I just fell in love with the creation of cool stuff, especially Sci-Fi. I finally, at 26, went for it and then went to California and worked in the movie, commercial and TV industry for around ten years. I became a teacher at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh and then returned to Cali doing this stuff ever since. Most memorable projects include Hidalgo, Six Feet Under, Carnival, Role Models, Knights of Badassdom, and Power Rangers etc... I've definitely worked on a lot! I love what I do and just really want to make cool stuff!
Jay Michael Roberts (Scenic Designer) grew up in NW Montana, has a degree in architecture and is completing an MFA Scenic Design at the University of Montana. Shout out to Fort Peck, where he’s spent over a decade running the scene shop, and performing. Special thanks to Andy Meyers for his constant support and to Justin and Melissa for including him in this rockstar project.

Matt Merline (Sound Designer) is the resident sound guy for the Nocturne Theater. He runs the ship for any and all sound-related needs. For Hunchback, he recorded and mixed the backup choir. You can find him crawling around the theater floor plugging things into the wall or buried in a pile of wires. His spare time is spent at the library, playing music, writing and long hikes.
Micah Delhauer (Assistant Lighting Designer/Stage Manager) is both the bee's knees AND the cat's meow. He has been involved with Meyer2Meyer Entertainment since its inception, doing everything from directing to dressing up like giant ice cream cones, and is proud to be assisting with their latest enterprise, the Nocturne Theatre. When not acting as inspiration and mentor to the Meyers, he is also a creator of motion pictures, having just finished his feature debut, Blood Magick. Check out his bad self at:

DESIGNER NOTES
Director's Note
There was a tradition in my house growing up--every New Year's Eve my parents would rent us kids a variety of musicals on VHS to entertain us until midnight. I would patiently suffer through Grease, Sound of Music or Annie, just knowing that at that big, climatic New Year's Eve moment, I would be celebrating with a Big Green Mother, From Outer Space!

This show and score hold a very special place in my heart and I knew it wouldn't be long before The Nocturne would produce our own!

While I believe that the Frank Oz film is nearly perfect, I wanted to stay true to what is becoming our way of approaching the classic musicals. I wanted the Nocturne's version to have a unique perspective on who these characters are...what they want...and what they look like!

I rooted my concept on the three Urchin girls--and why they might take on a dual role of Skid Row resident and greek chorus. I wanted a grander purpose for them to be in this position--so our take is that they are in on it! In our version, the Urchin girls are aliens--who have travelled to Earth in order to propagate these Audrey II's for world conquest! It is through their influence that the main characters come together and the events that need to happen unfold as a result of their coordination.

Another unique take for us was in the design of Audrey II herself. We wanted to lean away from the traditional venus flytrap style and instead focus on a design that starts off as plant--but quickly molts that outer leafy layer, revealing a much different animal species below it! For our inspiration, we used the 1950s and 60's reptilian sci-fi monster model to draw inspiration from. Tanya Cyr's great creature designs were inspired by Roger Corman's creative catalogue of campy creatures, as well as a small nod to the xenomorph of the film Alien (who are also born from a pod!).
We're very excited to have all the Audrey II's in this show--and you may even get a chance to see her again in another upcoming production!
